'All God's People: A Theology of the Church' sets out a corrective understanding of the nature of the church universal with a focus on implications for the church local. The book is divided into three basic sections: A Historical Theology of the Church surveys the history of theology of the church, beginning with the early church, the formative years for all Christian theology; A Biblical Theology of the Church examines the Old Testament, Gospels, and apostolic sense of the people of God; A Systematic Theology of the Church seeks to both systematize the biblical theology and synthesize it with contemporary thought. Finally, A Practical Theology of the Church concludes the work relating the book's lessons to the contemporary church climate.

Disciples of Christ come in all ages and colors, but they also come from different backgrounds and bring with them diverse gifts, needs, opportunities, and challenges. As a result, catechesis must never take the form of one-size-fits-all. While the Gospel message is eternal, our messaging (how we share that timeless message) needs to adapt to an ever-changing reality, or we risk being perceived as irrelevant. This sixth volume of The Effective Catechetical Leader takes a close look at the many groups of people to be catechized—from school-age children to young adults, from parents to the catechists themselves—and offers strategies and tips to effectively engage all of them in life-giving, Gospel-centered faith formation. The Effective Catechetical Leader series, developed in conjunction with the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership and written by some of the top catechetical leaders in the country, is the only series to encompass all the various aspects of catechetical leadership. This series provides the practical skills, strategies, and approaches that ensure successful parish faith formation in an evangelizing manner, which leads directly to a vibrant Church. From best practices to new approaches for proclaiming God’s word in a rapidly changing world, this groundbreaking series will empower catechetical leaders to excel at everything from administrative duties to effectively catechizing people of all ages within our diverse Church.

Does the letter to the Hebrews display Jewish or Christian identity? Ole Jakob Filtvedt shows that it takes up a traditional Jewish category, namely membership in God's people, and proposes it for its audience as a collective identity but also significantly reshapes that category in light of belief in Jesus. In this book, you will experience the people of the Bible enlightening us how God used them and the roles they played in the plan of God—from the beginning to the end, from Genesis to Revelations. Knowing the characters of the Bible gives an exciting and personal upfront look at how they lived in a crazy world. You will be strengthened and built up in faith to challenge every obstacle that comes your way—courageously. We read about this in Hebrews: By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. By faith, Abel, Cain, Enoch, Abraham were all part of the foundation of this universe. We are the people of God. We play a role in that plan as well. God’s People – We Are covers more than one hundred people of importance in the Bible. The whole book is added for some of the smaller books, separated into daily readings. It gives the Word of God in a people format mixed with personal life application and devotion in a one-year time frame, which makes it an easy daily five-minute reading. This definitely appeals to the busy person that would love to implement biblical reading in their daily schedule. Included are personal testimonies and applications in walking in the fruit of the Spirit. Explore all the dynamites of life: love, hate, relationships, sorrow, money, children, politics, religion, sin, etc., and the people who lived it.

The writings of St. Paul have provided teaching, insight, and guidance to Christians from the church’s earliest days right up to our own. A missionary, theologian, and martyr, he was at all times a pastor to the early Christian communities scattered throughout the Roman Empire. By exploring three passages from his letters (1 Thess 1:2-10; 1 Cor 12:12-31; Gal 5:13-16) we will discover that God’s people now still need his encouragement and instruction.

In an age when the church is sometimes viewed as irrelevant and inauthentic, leading Pentecostal theologian Terry Cross calls the people of God to a radical change of structure and mission based on theological principles. Cross, whose work is respected by scholars from across the ecumenical landscape, offers an introduction to ecclesiology that demonstrates how Pentecostals can contribute to and learn from the church catholic. A forthcoming volume by the author, Serving the People of God's Presence, will focus on the role of leadership in the church.

Do you have difficulty knowing how to pray for the missionaries you support and have promised to uphold in prayer and/or for the missionaries your church supports? Do you feel that you can't pray for them if you haven't had news from them recently? Is it hard for your missions committee to motivate people to pray? This book is designed to make interceding for the advance of the Gospel interesting. It reviews biographies of missionaries of the past, some well-known and some not so, to illustrate how to pray for those of the present. It presents common needs for prayer for not only people working in cultures not their own but for all of God's servants as they labor anywhere. You will discover aspects of the missionary life that will remind you of your own struggles. You will gather insights as you see the hand of God working through ordinary people to accomplish His purposes. As you look back over long periods of time, you will better understand how God works all things together for the good of His people. You will marvel at how the Holy Spirit strengthened and used ordinary people like you and me to accomplish His purposes. Prayer lists at the end of each chapter will apply to any of God's servants anywhere and may be useful for quick reference in your prayer life. Use this book to organize a group by reading a chapter each meeting for discussion and prayer. Reference it for your private intercession. Or just read it for enjoyment and information as you would read any other book. 6

This book has been an inspired work of love. It came to me early one morning as I was having coffee and meditating on the goodness of God and the many ways God is revealed to his human family (as I regularly do) in the magnificent creation he has provided for all his people. Whenever this tiny voice speaks to me in the extreme interior of my heart, I pay attention and I follow through with whatever is revealed. This has happened before in other areas of my life with amazing results. I pray that those who read this work may not only find it inspirational but will also recognize in their own lives the many ways God speaks to them and act upon the message revealed. We must respond when God calls us to a particular cause. If he calls us, he will show us the way however remote, however distant, or however difficult the call may seem to us. We are his childrenhis chosen peopleand he loves us beyond measure!
